“RUNO!” CELEBRATES WORLD PREMIERE AT QCINEMA

Runo!, the heartwarming animated short film by iACADEMY’s iNDIEGENIUS mentees Lysa Catolico and Jazmine Gin Pateña from the iACADEMY’s School of Design and the Arts under the BS Animation Program, proudly takes the spotlight at this year’s QCinema International Film Festival under the QCShorts International Program. Produced by Runo Studios, the 12-minute comedy brings to life the story of a lovable dog navigating a treacherous landscape, marking another milestone for original Filipino animation.
The project is supported by acclaimed producers Carl Papa and Geo Lomuntad, known for their work on Iti Mapukpukaw, the Philippines’ 2023 Oscar entry. Runo! joins the roster of promising new works from emerging Filipino animators mentored by iACADEMY’s School of Design and the Arts and Vision Creative Unit, it is a testament to the institution’s industry-ready and boundary-pushing training in animation.
