Two-Fold Triumph: Leadership Excellence and Auxiliary Service to the Nation

September 22, 2025

We're #iACADEMYProud to honor the remarkable achievements of our President and Chief Operating Officer, Commodore Raquel Perez-Wong, who has recently been recognized with two distinct milestones in leadership and service.
At the Women's Tabloid Awards 2025, a UK-based media and publication platform that celebrates and recognizes exceptional women in business, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Ms. Wong received the Excellence in Strategic Operations Leadership - Education award, a recognition that highlights her transformative role in making iACADEMY one of the most innovative education providers in the country. Under her leadership, students graduate not only industry-ready but also with integrity, resilience, and purpose.

In a separate occasion, Ms. Wong was also formally inducted during the Donning and Oath-Taking Ceremony as Commodore of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. The donning rite, a symbolic tradition where ranks, insignias, and regalia are conferred, signifies achievement, transition, and responsibility. As she took her oath, Commodore Wong embodied the same values of excellence, service, and professionalism that she has long exemplified in education, ensuring that growth, whether in the classroom or in service to the nation, is always a shared triumph.
Beyond leadership, iACADEMY has also been at the forefront of contributing to nation-building through groundbreaking projects, from developing game-changing AR materials for the Department of Tourism to promote the country's culture and tourism, to creating MAZE, the first social distancing app. This same spirit of service extends to life-changing initiatives such as the Dugtong Buhay Movement, which exemplifies unity and shared purpose by turning blood donation into a lifeline of hope for patients and families, and the Pay IT Forward Campaign, in partnership with RepublicAsia, that equips public school teachers and underserved communities with free training, resources, and access to modern learning tools. Together, these initiatives reflect our belief that service goes beyond innovation, it is an extension of compassion and humanity, a commitment to building a brighter, healthier, and more resilient future for the Philippines.

Her back-to-back milestones in education and national service, coupled with iACADEMY's contributions to government and community initiatives, reaffirm that leadership is not just about guiding an institution but also about transforming lives with empathy, courage, and integrity.
